One of the things I love about cartooning is the way it shows how accepting our minds are. Because the shapes and sizes of the characters can bear almost no relationship to reality and yet we have no trouble accepting them. As a little example, I randomly doodled five shapes and they certainly weren’t chosen to be anything like the outline of a human head. And then I proceeded to help them "get ahead." Both before and after are placed in close proximity so you can see for yourself how shapes which are about as far from human as possible nevertheless support characters that would be very much at home in a typical comic.

Interesting, no?
