Well, I've been getting countless requests to have some more "From the sketchpad" posts. Of course, it's only countless because I can't count above 2 …
However, it's been enough to get me motivated. And for today I thought I'd offer a before and after comparison that shows the changes (subtle and not-so-subtle) that occur before a post gets posted. What I've done is take yesterday's crowtoon and show the first version (done in mid-December of '08) on the left and the final version that posted yesterday on the right:

Do you see the differences? Do they make a difference to you?
- And that's today's word from the bird

Saw the differences, but they weren't different enough to make a difference to me.
Not like say… early sluggy compared to current sluggy.
Sluggy?

Ah
I'm glad to see this – it illustrates very powerfully the expressiveness of eyebrows. I tend to think of eyebrows as something that takes up space, and not really appreciate what they can add to a face.

Yup. I revised Nicky's eyebrows to their current state a few months back and I feel that it adds quite a bit to him.
Nicky looks a lot more like his brother in the original form, but his eyebrows are way too thin. I like the current form better, all told, although I think the paler color for the Binky Cakes is better–they look sicklier and more bad-for-you.
