There’s the color on the page and the color you see …
More fun with color. Today – plain old gray. Seems like there’s nothing interesting going on there at all, doesn’t it? But – there is.
Check out my two Nicky’s. Notice how I tinged my gray with orange in the pic on the right and with blue for the pic on the left. The orange-gray really pops against the blue background, doesn’t it? Whereas the blue-gray on the left comes across as darker.
What, it’s not so interesting? Okay, how about if I tell you I was lying in the preceding paragraph. What if I told you that BOTH grays are identical and are purely neutral gray – halfway between white and black. THEN would you be interested?
Well, it’s true. There’s absolutely no difference between the two gray Nicky images. The only reason it seems different is because of the background. Remember how Van Gogh was quoted a few days ago as saying that without orange there is no blue? Well, apparently with orange there IS blue, whether it’s actually there or not! And vice versa.
