The weather has always been a good conversation starter but lately it’s been going overboard. I feel sorry for all the plants in my yard, I truly do. It’s cold and then it’s warm. So the plants think "Hmmm, Spring came early." And then, just as they gear up for their Spring growth – it’s cold again. Sub-freezing cold. And now we’re in a warming trend with highs in the 70′s predicted for tomorrow. All this in just a single month?
Whether it’s man-made climate change, normal earthly variability or something else, the bottom line is that it’s weird weather time and plants aren’t really designed for stuff like this. I fear that my garden is not going to be a happy place this year. And I doubt it’s going to be a whole lot better for those vast farms that grow all our produce.
Interesting times, indeed.
