I tried learning martial arts one time. Took me only one day to realize I'd be better of just sticking to my laziness
Ah, but Grasshopper, the true martial artist realizes that he doesn't have to kick serious butt. He is CAPABLE of kicking serious butt, but doesn't NEED to do it to prove manliness. The best martial artist defuses conflicts before they evolve into combat, but is capable of defending himself and others when necessary.
Now, go to your rooms and meditate upon what I have just taught you.
Will Nicky become a true martial artist or not? Tune in next time for the exciting answer …
Yes, DCS, you are totally right.
And btw it depends of the martial arts you practice. The philosophy is a big part of old school style (like Karate, Aikido, Taichi or Kungfu). At a modern style (like Kickboxing or NIA) the philosophy isn’t that important.
And at least it depends on your inner thinking. For me the philosophy was a very important part of the training and I don’t like it without it.
